Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!

To celebrate this wonderful Easter Sunday I have recreated a very personal piece from my 2016 inktober collection.

#30

#30 was my favorite inktober out of my series. And I think it's mostly because he was originally  created during a very substantial moment in my life. January 2016 was a tough month that taught me a shit ton. I was alone, for the most part. Confused and kind of broke. And just didn't care about a lot during that time which is normal sometimes when you go through quick sudden changes. But I convinced myself that sitting around and stewing in the slumps of a newly interupted life had its advantages. I could start over how ever I wanted. So I reminded myself what I wanted to do and what I liked to do and that was illustrations. (Not my old band, although those WERE some of my favorite days. Hit me up if you're curious about those days. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‰)

So I took a drawing pad from my friend whom I was staying with at the time, Adam and immediately tried to draw something. And a really rough version of #30 came to life. (Eventually I'll give him a name but for now he is still #30.)

I'd like to think he appears the way he does because although I was experiencing pain and sadness during those times I tried my best to smile and not let it overwhelm me. Fake it until you make it, as my friendtor Tim tells me. Mostly because it's true. If you try your best you can get used to anything. And faking it convinces you to act and think the way you usually wouldn't until it becomes an embedded routine and it become a new you. This was a very important step in refinding myself. And it was as simple as just drawing a character on a piece of paper.

I've decided that the more I think about #30 the more I appreciate the character. And so I've decided to use him as a logo, or a mascot so to say. And to implement this idea I've started with the idea to recreate him to match the current holidays, and today is Easter! And soon he'll celebrate the other holidays and events to come. It's a great way to initiate in current events and continue to keep what I do alive in ways I enjoy, all while being excited for the holidays and fun things to come!

So happy holidays everyone.
